7's Day 2011 - FC Heaven

Daikoku is always full of FC3s and FC3c on 7's Day. This is the venue for the FC lovers. These two BN Sports style machines showing the true Japanese Drift style made famous by Haruguchi.

You always find awesome cars here, This B-Wave bumper on the FC was always a favourite of mine.

Panasport G7 5 spokes and some nice period correct items. some people would kill for the window rain defectors on this car. But check the background, Daikoku fills with enthusiasts, from restored stock to wild chops.

these old school Enkei 3 piece rims and a wild combo and further down the row you see the Tamon demo car. Some guys bring some items to off load.

The Japanese variety and abundance is hard to imagine for some. Stock 84 FC3S to 91 Enfini. It's all here.

GT-R rims are a nice upgrade on this base model. Thankfully no NA cars in Japan. Only the turbo monsters.

These black car was the cleanest I found. The owner very pleased to show it off.

All FC lovers are "quirky", right? You have to be to put up with FC electrical gremlins and the 80's wonder.

If that's too much for you then a few upgrades usually eliminate most problems. But some take it a bit further to full rebuild level. This car was perFeCt!

go go FC.

7's Day 2011 - Confused Identity.

Confused? There's a lot going on here.

What we have here is an FD with an identity crisis. The BN Sports RX8 bumper and FD side Skirts mix quite well, but the problem with this conversion is always panel fit. The gap behind the bonnet must serve as serve as a heat exit, because it's massive. JDM rims & performance, US sticker bombs and number plate... WTF? Roof racks and other stuff.

But somehow it all works. I particularly like the deep purple and the rear drag wing helps the low stance... but has zero effect when the wheels are on the roof.

Interesting car.

7's Day 2011 - Suzuki FC3s

No that's not a error. A look at the ever evolving FC driven by Suzuki-san.

You have to get up early to photograph drift cars at their best. Because, much like in rally, by the end of the day, they are usually destroyed in some way. Suzuki-san on the left.

Here's the result after the first few laps. A small coming together with the Moccomans fd. The bumper repaired with the same colour tape. A common repair technique for the drift fraternity.

Even not sideways, the car looks awesome. Suzuki used to drive the RE-Amemiya's prep'd D1SL FD. The car features re-a mirrors, diffuser and light conversion, but that's about it. The Livery however dates back to Ama-san's first FC3s adventures and the older Greddy cars.

Pink Advan Model 6 are a cool touch along with the super Vatman Sanai wing.

His other car, the Sexy Knights FD, has had a few problems recently so wasn't ready for 7's day unfortuantely.

But the FC still rips up the Tsukuba hairpin without issue. LED rear lights are one off and cool.

This was the last shot before the car was destroyed in among a 6 car train.  It sometimes ends that way. Tsukuba circuit isn't so forgiving.

7's Day 2011 - The Boss

The Boss FC Turbo Convertible always draws a crowd.

So I had to shoot these pictures very early in the day. 17" front and 18" rear work emotion XD-9 in Bronze really match the candy red paint and silver carbon additions. I  love open cars and drifting one is a cool experience.

But whats that lurking behind?

7's day was like that, just when you think you find an awesome machine, there's another just as cool within a few meters. New CR-Kiwami on this BN Sports FC.
