Tsukuba Super Battle 2011 - Pull my...

...Leg Sport. The Leg Motorsports RX-8 was the first thing I shot at super battle. The shiney metallic blue and carbon contrasting well with the shine from the melting snow as I looked down from the warmth of the press room.

Unfortunately, but without regret I left that warm room and set about the task of balancing imagery with the dull Tsukuba backdrop.

The car is now wearing new front bumper and has the new side skirts as well. these now feature the carbon lower lip and create a dark lower edge to the car on one side only. I'm not sure if this was intentional to show both items, but the opposite side wears a blue painted side skirt.

The Rev Speed photographers always bring each of the cars in turn to the scrutineering area and get some shots at the same angle. The steep back at this point creates a clean background.

Yes, it was still cold. The hot exhaust gas clearly visible in temps around 3 degrees. no fog though for the F1 style LED that are becoming popular for diffusers.

Luckily it warmed up a little which allowed some dryer looking images. I love the LEG Sport TAG Heuer logo.

And the Super Sexy SA-60M donated by Weds Sport with some nice good-year radials. The matching titanium muffler is a nice touch.

Sometimes you notice things from afar. BLING!

Under the hood they have added some simple gold reflective shield to combat intake temps and a huge oil catch can setup.

Best on the day of 1'03.847, Ooi-san showed his prowess by getting this car to punch above it's weight.

7's Day 2011 - Legging it!

Leg sport have built some awesome time attack and street cars in the past. These days their focus is on street tuning with a "club spec" feeling.

We've seen the 7 up close before, so I won't spend too much time on it. Less to say, there's a new front bumper in the works. Secretly, you can expect a nice carbon lower lip and some changes not unlike their new GT Spec RX8.

Their other car is the RX8 that has been developed for the weekend circuit runner. A lower cost machine that still delivers great grip and can dispose of those unaware of the RX8 capabilities.

Full Aero set defines their style and that funky rear wing has some serious angle.

The GT-3 type stripes kind of define the "CS" club sport style and philosphy well. These cars are capable to handle the abuse of the track, then drive home in "relative" comfort.

Their main rival is of course the R-Magic 8 which is of a similar level of tune.

When the black Revolution 8 TA machine can return from the race, the driver out of car, the Leg sport and R-Magic just returning to the pit, you understand the difference a 20b full time attack spec machine makes.

But also the difference in price.

7's Day 2011 - Moccoman's RE-Fresh!

This car gets better.

First change. Mazdaspeed GT-C front bumper. Second change is the full RE-Amemiya GT-AD II kit including sides diffusers and rear diffuser extensions and mirrors.

I guess you can's miss the paint. But it has actually returned to it's former glory two versions ago. But overall much much better!

I guess we need to focus on the rims. Gun Blue over fluro yellow is amazing!

Weds TC105N and a spare set of RE-30. Note the rear wing also body colour. Not common.

Toyo proxes are the tyre of choice. Still not going to last long. Carbon parts have a yellow tint.

Fuel pump and interior is setup and functional. Nardi Takata and Recaro are all the names you need.

Warm up lap the car was in line.

Then mash the pedal! And hold it flat.

Some attendees got a sideways lap in the car...

Rear Ab-Flug bumper and modifed re-amemiya light cover looks cool too.

So fresh like citrus lemon and lime.

Unfortunately the car was not quite running perfectly, backfiring adding to the commotion. So it was saved after a few morning runs.

but while it was out on track, the view was amazing!

The guys run a body shop so it's a great showcase for them. A drift spin avoidance caused a bit of damage to the rear also, but that's the price of drift.

My favourite fd3s rx-7 (again) at sevens day.
