7's Day 2012 - Moccoman's RE-RE-Fresh!

Here is a feature I hould have loaded a year ago. But the 7's day coverage has re-ignited my interest. So here is a special car from the 2012 Mazda Tuning Festival.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 - pREview

Perfection, Maturity, Madness, Dumped, Drifted, Styled and Conceived. Some of the words you might hear in the next few days and weeks from RE-Xtreme as we go in detail through the cars of TAS 2012.

These shots are just a quick look through the camera.

Some things you will want to see more of.

Some with new ideas.

Some with a new take on old topics.

Limits are explored in every direction.

From the daily street lifestyle...

To the drift crazy mad bull extremes.

There was a lot going on, new, old, tried and tested.

Somethings maybe you shouldn't test.

And boundaries pushed all the way.

Sometimes the scene is surreal.

And sometimes it's very real.

I look forward to bringing you all these and much more from Tokyo Auto Salon...

Tsukuba Super Battle 2011 - I's Factory

A new car to me was the I's Factory SE3P RX8. It looked pretty cool in full Mazdaspeed A-Spec Style and the GT Wing and small extras finished it nicely.

I don't know much about this car, but after viewing their website, I'm surprised I saw it this time.

http://www.isfactory.asia/ is based in Okayama which is way south west of Japan.

Their modifications seem to be based around their own brand of suspension and rigid chassis components and bushings to get a good balance in the car.  And then ECU tune and some Rays TE37 SL add lightweight performance gains also.

A regular competitor in the Japanese Miester Cup RX8 Challenge series the car features in the top 10. But the one thing you notice about the RX8s vs the Rx7s is that they just keep circulating... lap after lap after lap.

FD3s are the sprinters. SE3P are the simple endurance machines. I'm not sure which brings more satisfaction.

Maybe Both.

7's Day 2011 - F-See

Here's a little inspiration for those FC-Xtremists among us. Most FD owners have probably had an FC or two in their past...

These are the ones they probably dreamed about. Border / Tamon / Convertible with TE37 and V-Mount.

Or perhaps an RE-Amemiya FC-2000 front to complement some older tuning components like these MS-01 Mazdaspeed rims.

How about THE original RE-Amemiya Greddy II widebody with 928 headlight conversion on OZ rims. Awesome or what!!!!

Or maybe something wider... this car tuned by ERC features some extra wild parts from Border, Tamon and more.

Makes you want one again, doesn't it? I wonder if the electrics are still working?

7's Day 2011 - Daikoku - Bright Lights

It's all cool at Daikoku on 7's Day!

Someone has found a way to improve the RE-Amemiya lighting. A customised cover is also in effect. It's a good option for cracked ones. interesting Mirrors on this car too. Bike mirrors are small and light. Scissor doors and Grenade rims. That little bit of bling for effect.

This car wears a discontinued Speed Connection Bumper developed for N1 racing. A creative solution for lighting here also. Side indicators replaced with RX-8 items also on the "Xtreme Trancer".

A nice bit of poke on the B.I.M rims covering some serious brakes. Yumekobo Dream Works vented bonnet is another rarely seen item.

Daikoku on 7's day is the place to see unique combos and great ideas! Much more to come.

7's Day 2011 - Goes well with Beef

What colour? Burgundy, Shiraz or Wine Red. Elegantly tough. Sink your teeth into a big steak and then have a sip of wine.

Details are rough, but that's half the appeal of a circuit machine. When you USE something, perfecting visual details don't really matter. As with most cars on 7's day, the owners weren't around when I was. So getting details was difficult. 16 and 17" TE37 with deep offset and Advan S-tyres.

Like the burnt rear bumper. Flamage! Forsight body panels and some complements with extended guards and RE-Amemiya carbon diffuser make this wider and that little bit tougher.

Heading out on track. Serious time.

On track profile is awesome. Mirrors are smooth. High rake bonnet has a massive vent! Rear hatch is also acrylic for weight saving. Privateers sometimes have the best cars being unrestricted to mix and match.

Even from afar, its still awesome. Like a drunken carnivore.

7's Day 2011 - Moccoman's RE-Fresh!

This car gets better.

First change. Mazdaspeed GT-C front bumper. Second change is the full RE-Amemiya GT-AD II kit including sides diffusers and rear diffuser extensions and mirrors.

I guess you can's miss the paint. But it has actually returned to it's former glory two versions ago. But overall much much better!

I guess we need to focus on the rims. Gun Blue over fluro yellow is amazing!

Weds TC105N and a spare set of RE-30. Note the rear wing also body colour. Not common.

Toyo proxes are the tyre of choice. Still not going to last long. Carbon parts have a yellow tint.

Fuel pump and interior is setup and functional. Nardi Takata and Recaro are all the names you need.

Warm up lap the car was in line.

Then mash the pedal! And hold it flat.

Some attendees got a sideways lap in the car...

Rear Ab-Flug bumper and modifed re-amemiya light cover looks cool too.

So fresh like citrus lemon and lime.

Unfortunately the car was not quite running perfectly, backfiring adding to the commotion. So it was saved after a few morning runs.

but while it was out on track, the view was amazing!

The guys run a body shop so it's a great showcase for them. A drift spin avoidance caused a bit of damage to the rear also, but that's the price of drift.

My favourite fd3s rx-7 (again) at sevens day.
